BAPTISMS
In accordance with the policy of the Diocese of Oxford, Baptisms take place at our main Sunday Service which is at 10am. To be Baptised at Saint John’s requires residence within the Parish of Lacey Green, Loosley Row and Speen or a clear connection with the worshipping community here. According to Canon Law, godparents should themselves have been baptised and confirmed, though the requirement of confirmation is permitted to be relaxed. MARRIAGES
To be married at Saint John’s requires one or both parties to the Marriage to have a Qualifying Connection in the form of one or more of the following:
• Having been baptised in the parish (by a Church of England service/form of baptism).
• Having been confirmed (by a Church of England service) and the confirmation being entered in a register belonging to a church or chapel in the parish.
• Having a parent or grandparent who was married in the parish by a Church of England service.
• Having had as a usual place of residence in the parish for at least 6 months.
• Having a parent who has had his or her usual place of residence in the parish for at least 6 months during your lifetime.
• Having habitually attended public worship at Church of England services in the parish for at least 6 months.
• Having a parent who has habitually attended public worship at Church of England services in the parish for at least 6 months during your lifetime.

For those who are not UK citizens, citizens of the Republic of Ireland, or EU citizens with Settled Status in the UK, it will be necessary to obtain a Marriage Schedule from the Registrar of Births, Deaths and Marriages before a date for a Marriage Service in Church can be arranged. The minimum age for Marriage in the UK is now 18 years old.
Our regular services are:
First and Third Sundays – 8.00am Holy Communion (BCP)
Each Sunday – 10.00am Parish Communion with Hymns (All Age on First Sunday)
Each Tuesday – 9.30am Holy Communion (CW)
